PDF is accepted as the worldwide standard for print based production and if setup correctly PDFs can have significant benefits.
• They can be viewed on a PC or Apple macintosh.

• Files are compressed to improve file transfer across the internet.

• Print information is embedded in the file to ensure file integrity.
Things to do:
1. All printer fonts must be embedded. Acrobat version 4 and above are the only versions
support TrueType fonts.

2. Any graphics that are embedded must CMYK or Greyscale and not RGB.

3. Ensure each image is saved as a tiff, eps or jpeg.

4. Use our distiller settings.

5. Check that any spot colours are displayed correctly in Acrobat output preview.

6. Ensure that the final PDF is centred and includes 3mm bleed on all sides.
Things that will be needed before creating your PDF:
1. Acrobat Distiller v4 or higher for Mac or Windows.
This comes with the program Acrobat which is used for viewing the PDF files.

2. Postscript Printer Driver file (PPD). This can be downloaded
